Client update examples for real project work

Use these examples when you need to turn messy notes, delayed feedback, missing assets, approvals, or weekly progress into clear client communication.

Start with these

Follow-up from History

Draft the next follow-up after a client replies

After you send an update, paste the client's reply or new project progress into Follow-up mode. ClientCadence uses saved project History to draft the next message without repeating old completed work.

Previous update

We fixed the auth issue, updated the Stripe flow, and are waiting on homepage assets.

Client reply

Stripe is approved. We'll send homepage assets tomorrow.

Follow-up draft

Thanks for confirming the Stripe approval. I'll move forward with that part. Once the homepage assets come through tomorrow, I can finish the next pass and send it over for review.

This works because it acknowledges approval, avoids repeating completed work, focuses on the remaining item, and gives a clear next step.

GitHub activity example

Turn release activity into a client-ready update

Use GitHub activity when technical progress needs to be translated into outcomes, release status, blockers, and next steps. In a paid workspace, an explicit /clientcadence update comment can draft the same kind of review-ready update from a linked repository.

GitHub activity

  • PR #42 merged: Homepage hero layout
  • PR #43 merged: Mobile navigation fix
  • Issue #18 closed: Contact form validation
  • Release v1.2.0 published
  • Issue #51 open, waiting on client: Product photos

Client-ready update

Good news - the latest update has been released. The homepage layout, mobile navigation fix, and contact form validation are included in this release. One item is still waiting on your side: product photos are needed before I can finish the next product section.

This works because it separates released work from the remaining client action and avoids sending raw commit history to the client.
